Soccer Game Preview: Athens vs. Philo

The Athens Bulldogs will face off against the Philo Electrics at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Athens' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Athens managed to keep up with Pickerington Central until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bulldogs came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Philo lost 7-2 to Tri-Valley on Thursday. Philo were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Athens now has a losing record of 4-5-5. As for Philo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3-2.

Athens beat Philo by a goal when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 3-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Electrics have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
