Volleyball Recap: New Site Comes Up Short

New Site was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Hatley Tigers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-13.

Johna Kate Lindley paced New Site's offense, picking up six kills. Lindley got some help from Claudi Ann Brown and her five assists. Baya Buse controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Hatley to victory were Abigail Chism and McKarlee Tubbs. Chism had 19 digs and four aces, while Tubbs had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Tubbs a new career-high.

New Site's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Hatley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-12.

New Site didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Baldwyn on the 22nd. As for Hatley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Walnut on the 22nd.
