Recap: Lakewood Cougars vs. Lynden Lions
After soaring to 56 points the game before, the Lakewood Cougars were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were beaten by Lynden 69-20. Lakewood has not had much luck with Lynden recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Lakewood had strong showings from ALAINA JONES, who scored 5 points, and Leiana Riveira, who scored 6 points. Riveira scored a full 30% of Lakewood's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lakewood now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lynden, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will challenge Blaine at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lynden will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bellingham at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
