Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

If North was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Belle Plaine on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks lost 22-6 to the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the RedHawks in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost nine in a row.

North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ernesto Mejia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Another was Alfonso Olivarez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they pushed their record up to 9-9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Crusaders beat North by a score of 15-0 later that day.
