League recap: Afenir powers Vista Murrieta with hot hitting week

Southwestern league recap: 3/27/13

Joven Afenir had the hottest bat in Southwestern this week, racking up a .571 average, two home runs and five RBIs. Vista Murrieta compiled a record of 2-0 in that time.

Chaparral's Daniel Rubio was the best pitcher in the league this week. Over the past week, he racked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Murrieta Mesa gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (seven), but Temecula Valley has surrendered a league-fewest 45 base hits over the entire season.

The league boasted 12 .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Alec Garrett, who hit .800 by going 4-for-5.

Alec Garrett went 3-for-3 as the Golden Bears defeated the Pumas 9-0 on Wednesday. He also drove in three runners and scored two runs.



Jb Bernardy drove in four runners as Chaparral defeated Roosevelt 8-0 on Tuesday. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.
