Basketball Recap: Ridge View Wins Going Away Against Newell-Fonda

Ridge View hadn't done well against Newell-Fonda recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Ridge View Raptors enjoyed a cozy 75-60 win over the Newell-Fonda Mustangs. For the Raptors, this counts as revenge for the 62-58 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

The win made it two in a row for Ridge View and bumps their season record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Newell-Fonda, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

Coming up, Ridge View is taking a road trip to square off against East Sac County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for East Sac County: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Ridge View has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. As for Newell-Fonda, they have already played their next game, an 87-45 loss against Storm Lake on the 11th.
