Basketball Game Preview: Cole Cougars vs. Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins

Cole is 10-0 against Great Hearts Northern Oaks since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cole Cougars will host the Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Cole sitting on eight straight victories and Great Hearts Northern Oaks on three.

Cole is returning to their home court after beating Randolph on theirs, despite the fact Randolph has dominated at home this season. Cole came out on top in a nail-biter against Randolph on Tuesday, sneaking past 40-38.

Logan Beckstrom continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvin Ybarra, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Great Hearts Northern Oaks hadn't done well against Marion recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Great Hearts Northern Oaks walked away with a 57-46 win over Marion.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks' win came from a few key players Cole will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caden Collins, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and five assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. Michael Glowe was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Cole has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Great Hearts Northern Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 15-13.
