Baseball Recap: Grayson County Triumphs

Grayson County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Edmonson County Wildcats. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Gage Napier's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Haycraft, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Grayson County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-9 otherwise. Levi Rogers also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Grayson County back to even at 9-9. As for Edmonson County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10-1.

Grayson County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
