Baseball Recap: Lake Ridge Comes Up Short

Lake Ridge lost against Weatherford last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Kangaroos by a score of 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Ridge got a good showing from Cannon Day, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Day has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 3-1-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-10-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Lake Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Yates, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lake Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-11-3. As for Weatherford, the win got them back to even at 12-12-1.

Looking ahead, Lake Ridge will venture away from home to face off against Aledo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Weatherford, they will welcome Martin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
