Softball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-5 to the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly seven runs.

Karli Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sloan-Hendrix, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will square off against Westside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Sloan-Hendrix, they will take on Cedar Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sloan-Hendrix knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Cedar Ridge likes a good challenge.
