Providence Day owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers. Considering the Chargers have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rachel Lyons was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Audrey Glosson was excellent, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Sigg, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Providence Day now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Providence Day and Charlotte Country Day School could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 202nd) will meet Cannon (ranked 64th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day School will square off against Charlotte Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (314 vs. 105).
