League recap: Midway stuns Drexel in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Midway, who took down 128th ranked Drexel, 42-21.

Adrian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in Western Missouri. Earlier in the week, the Blackhawks defeated Archie 26-8.

Osceola's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Driston Self threw for 118 and two touchdowns and Derek Self had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Trevor Dean chipped in 174 yards. Dallas Self helped Osceola's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.

Osceola's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Self has thrown for 508 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Self has nine catches for 147 yards. Self also leads the league in rushing with 386 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Adrian takes on Appleton City. George Bruto's team is in third place, while the Bulldogs are in sixth place.

There should be lots of points scored when the Whirlwinds and the Indians face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Archie comes in having scored 78 this season, while Osceola has scored 105. Michael Toschi's team scored 8 points last week as it lost to the Blackhawks.

The Vikings moved up to 153 from 194 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western Missouri. Midway climbed the ranks as a result of a 42-21 win over the Bobcats.
