Baseball Game Preview: Peters Township Indians vs. Trinity Hillers

For the second straight game, Peters Township will face off against Trinity. The Indians will square off against the Hillers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Peters Township has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Peters Township is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Trinity 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Trinity's part, J.R. Rieg was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Rieg has become a key player for the Hillers: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Ayvari Chandler and Matthew Robaugh stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chandler went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Robaugh went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Peters Township is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.
