Basketball Recap: Elijah Heerdt leads Dominion Academy to victory over Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calvary Christian, the Dominion Academy Sabers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They strolled past Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. Dominion Academy pushed the score to 59-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Elijah Heerdt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Dominion Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Striebich, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Dominion Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

Dominion Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Saints at 9:00 p.m. on February 13th. Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
