Soccer Game Preview: Poplarville vs. Hattiesburg + Official Tickets

The Poplarville Hornets will face off against the Hattiesburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poplarville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Poplarville fell victim to Petal and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 5-0. That's two games in a row now that Poplarville have lost by exactly five goals.

Meanwhile, Hattiesburg kept a clean sheet against Columbia on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wildcats. While Hattiesburg didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-11-3), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cristopher Figueroa and Hector Lopez scored both of Hattiesburg's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Poplarville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-2. As for Hattiesburg, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
