Softball Recap: Nipomo Titans vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clovis East, Nipomo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Santa Ynez Pirates 16-1. The high-scoring effort was just what Nipomo needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Alie Camacho, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Richter, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Nipomo's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Santa Ynez, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nipomo will square off against San Luis Obispo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Luis Obispo and Nipomo are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Santa Ynez, they will head out on the road to take on Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
