Goreville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cobden Appleknockers an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Blackcats have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Goreville's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cobden, they moved to 6-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Goreville nor the Appleknockers have any future games scheduled.
