Football Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Cypress Lake

Cypress Lake won the last time they faced Lemon Bay and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Manta Rays with a sharp 41-21 win. Considering the Panthers have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite the loss, Lemon Bay still got an impressive performance from Carlos Serrano, who rushed for 227 yards and one touchdown. Serrano's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards.

Cypress Lake pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points over those games. As for Lemon Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Lake will square off against Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lemon Bay, they will take on North Port at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Manta Rays are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
