Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Hillcrest Christian had won three straight home games and Jaivyn Carter did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Hillcrest Christian Cougars walked away with a 68-57 victory over the River Oaks Mustangs thanks in part to Carter, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Johnson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played.

Hillcrest Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for River Oaks, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest Christian has already played their next contest (against Prairie View Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. River Oaks will take on Porter's Chapel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Oaks is facing Porter's Chapel Academy at the right time seeing as Porter's Chapel Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
