Basketball Recap: Yasir Hall Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Panther Creek

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Green Level, Middle Creek was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They managed a 60-54 victory over the Panther Creek Catamounts. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-56 last Wednesday.

Middle Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yasir Hall, who posted 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Greyson Land, who put up 19 points and five boards.

Hall wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Middle Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panther Creek only posted nine assists.

Panther Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Korey Smith, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Hill, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and six rebounds.

Middle Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Panther Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Middle Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Panther Creek: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
