It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Tuscarora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Briar Woods Falcons 3-2. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Briar Woods' batters probably weren't too happy with Peyton Travis, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up five walks).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brileigh Bass, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

The win got Tuscarora back to even at 1-1.

Tuscarora will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westfield at 6:30 p.m. on March 31st. As for Briar Woods, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Battlefield at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Briar Woods has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
