Volleyball Recap: Thunder Ridge Falls Despite Big Games from Avery Kunz and Reese Hone

Thunder Ridge lost against Hillcrest back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Titans fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Thunder Ridge had strong showings from Reese Hone, who had 24 digs and three assists, and Avery Kunz, who had seven digs and two aces.

Hillcrest had a senior duo take command as Natalie Petty had six digs and three aces and Ali Maddux had 15 digs and one assist.

Thunder Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Hillcrest, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Coming up, Thunder Ridge will take on Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Madison on the 20th.
