Volleyball Recap: Newark Tech Comes Up Short

Newark Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the West Caldwell Tech Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Terries of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-6.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Caldwell Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Jimenez, who had 15 digs. Jimenez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Newark Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for West Caldwell Tech, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Newark Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against West Essex on the 16th. As for West Caldwell Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Montclair on the 16th.
