Volleyball Recap: Ninilchik Comes Up Short

Ninilchik was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles. Wolverines fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Friday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Ninilchik sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-9.

Ninilchik's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cook Inlet Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Cook Inlet Academy has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Redington on the 26th. Hopefully Ninilchik paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
