Baseball Recap: Tamalpais Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks came up short against the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish and fell 6-3. The Red Tailed Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Van Til was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Will Gensler was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Tito Fierstein, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Tamalpais' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Tamalpais will challenge Maria Carrillo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, they will take on El Camino at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
