Oceanside Collegiate Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Waccamaw a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, who have now won 13 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Powdersville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Christ Church Episcopal on Friday. Given Powdersville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Christ Church Episcopal are ranked 46th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Powdersville's one-goal win came courtesy of Ethan Piel, who's now up to 11 this season.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for Powdersville, their victory bumped their record up to 22-3.
