Franklin is 5-0 against Monterey Trail since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Franklin Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Franklin will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Franklin's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 2-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Eagles are ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Monterey Trail hasn't lost a match since January 8th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Neither they nor Sheldon could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Franklin pushed their record up to 15-0-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven matchups. With that draw, Monterey Trail's record moves to 11-7-3.

Everything went Franklin's way against Monterey Trail when the teams last played on January 8th, as Franklin made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
