Mt. Shasta extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Leo Martinez. The Bears came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-7 W against the Modoc Braves for which the team can thank Martinez, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.

Mt. Shasta's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Caleb Sheets, Benedict Gazave, and Trevor Lanier, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Modoc's side was Sheets, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Mt. Shasta's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Modoc, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mt. Shasta will challenge Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Modoc, they will square off against Etna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
