Baseball Recap: Cheltenham Triumphs

Cheltenham's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Penn Wood Patriots get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Sean Trainor looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Eamon Ivory was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Xavi Chanoine, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The win got Cheltenham back to even at 1-1. As for Penn Wood, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Cheltenham will have a chance to go back-to-back against Penn Wood: the pair will be back at it again later today.
