Basketball Recap: Lewis Central Piles Up the Points Against Jefferson

After losing to Jefferson the last time they met, Lewis Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lewis Central Titans blew past the Jefferson Yellowjackets 72-36 on Monday. With the Titans ahead 40-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Junior Gatkuoth and Aiden Jensen certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Gatkuoth posted 16 points and six boards, while Jensen earned four points. Gatkuoth's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Lewis Central and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lewis Central will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge St. Albert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-57 win against Sioux City West on the 10th.
