Recap: Lewis-Palmer Rangers vs. Mead Mavericks
If the Lewis-Palmer Rangers were feeling good off their 48-23 takedown of the Thomas Jefferson Spartans on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lewis-Palmer lost to Mead at home by a decisive 60-44 margin on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lewis-Palmer in their matchups with Mead: they've now lost three in a row.
Lewis-Palmer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Lane, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. Rylee Edmondson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Mead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madi Clark out in front who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Darby Haley, who scored 12 points along with 3 blocks.
Lewis-Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mead, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Lewis-Palmer will head out on the road to face off against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mead, they will be playing at home against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Legacy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
