It was a proper cat-fight when Stockbridge challenged Locust Grove on Friday. The Tigers slipped by the Wildcats 21-20. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Stockbridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Scott, who threw for 169 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 77 yards. That's the most rushing yards Scott has posted since back in August of 2024. Dominic Tucker helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Stockbridge's run defense was locked in: Locust Grove could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least 13 total tackles, Cj Harris stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 13 total tackles (4.0 for loss). Stockbridge didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.

Stockbridge's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Harris, Titus Mapp Jr, and Cayden Bridges, who each picked up one sack apiece. Harris was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 13 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Locust Grove lost, don't look at Uriah Jordan. Despite the final result, he picked up 63 receiving yards and one score.

Stockbridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Locust Grove, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.
