Parkview hasn't had much luck against Johnson Creek recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will face off against the Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. Parkview has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Parkview's offense. They lost 16-0 to Deerfield on Thursday. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Meanwhile, Johnson Creek waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Hailee Walk, who gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Williams Bay off the board. Walk has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madi Brigowatz, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Hailey Fincutter, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Johnson Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams Bay only managed eight hits.
Johnson Creek's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Parkview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Parkview might still be hurting after the 19-0 defeat they got from Johnson Creek in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
