Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Perquimans walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Bear Grass Charter Bears 77-37. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Gregory, who posted six points and five boards. Gregory is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The victory was the tenth in a row for Perquimans, bringing their record for this year to 27-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Bear Grass Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7.
Looking ahead, Perquimans will square off against Wake Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wake Prep Academy will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Perquimans surely won't give up without a fight. Bear Grass Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
