Basketball Recap: Hilltop Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Hilltop Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Greenville Christian Academy Knights by a score of 64-54. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers who have now won four contests in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilltop Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Barbour, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Philip Joyner, who posted 16 points.

Greenville Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Dove, who earned 15 points and six assists. What's more, Dove also racked up four boards, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Andrew Dove, who put up eight points and four steals.

Hilltop Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Greenville Christian Academy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Hilltop Christian will venture away from home to square off against Living Water Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Living Water Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they will welcome Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
