Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Takes Down Ranked Blue Valley North

Lafayette is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Blue Valley North. The Lancers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mustangs 2-1.

Lafayette got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Wiese out in front who had 17 digs and one assist. Wiese is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Lafayette was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blue Valley North only served four aces.

Despite the loss, Blue Valley North still got an impressive performance from Ainsley Belford, who had 11 digs and one assist. Peyton Frye also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Blue Valley North, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against St. Teresa's Academy on the 20th. As for Blue Valley North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Blue Springs South on the 20th.
