Basketball Recap: Gunnison Has No Trouble Against Olathe

Gunnison made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Olathe, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Gunnison Cowboys blew past the Olathe Pirates 37-15 on Saturday. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Cowboys this season.

Kylee McDougal continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 12 points along with six steals and five boards. Those six steals gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yaslin Hernandez, who posted nine points and three steals.

With the win, Gunnison broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for Olathe, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

Gunnison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-43 loss against Salida on the 14th. As for Olathe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-12 defeat against Cedaredge on the 14th.
