Recap: Oak Ridge Wildcats vs. Lenoir City Panthers
The Oak Ridge Wildcats won the last time they faced the Lenoir City Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Oak Ridge took down Lenoir City 30-12. Given Oak Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Lenoir City is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for De'Jauvis Dozier, who rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns.
Lenoir City's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trey Wilhite, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Lenoir City, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4.
Oak Ridge will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Campbell County at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Gavin Owens and Dozier. As for Lenoir City, they will head out on the road to face off against Karns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
