Basketball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Del Norte Nighthawks

The Westview Wolverines will head out to take on the Del Norte Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview will be strutting in after a victory while Del Norte will be coming in after a loss.

Westview will head into Friday's game on the come-up: they were handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Poway 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted against the Titans since May 14, 2021.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Del Norte's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against San Marcos, falling 73-43. While losing is never fun, the Nighthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Knights are ranked 30th).

Westview's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Westview and Del Norte were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but Westview came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat. Can Westview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
