Baseball Recap: Mooresville Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Mooresville won the last time they faced Mallard Creek and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mooresville Blue Devils blew past the Mallard Creek Mavericks 12-1. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Connor Park looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Mooresville let Luke Modrak and Connor Robertson run wild. Modrak got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and four runs, while Robertson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double. With that strong performance, Modrak is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Tanner Waugh also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mooresville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mallard Creek only posted an OBP of .409.

Mooresville's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Mallard Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mooresville will square off against West Rowan at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mallard Creek, they will challenge Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
