Softball Recap: Scappoose's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Scappoose came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Banks Braves on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ashlynn Komp was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Vetsch, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Scappoose hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Banks struck out 11 times.

Scappoose's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Banks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9-1.

Scappoose does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Banks, they will face off against Corbett at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last five games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
