 Courtland came into Friday's   match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Massaponax Panthers  15-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Courtland considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
  Makayla Brooks was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Kaitlyn Malie, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 On Massaponax's side,  Laney Deane made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  fired off two  home runs, seven  RBI,  and three  runs while going 2-for-4.  Lily Plum was another key contributor,  going 2-for-5 with a  home run and three  runs.
 Even though they lost, Massaponax  lost a few balls and  finished the game with four  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 The  victory  got Courtland back to even at 6-6. As for Massaponax, their loss was  their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 3-10.
 Courtland will  square off against Culpeper County at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Courtland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4  runs per game  this season. As for Massaponax, they will head out on the road to  take on  Chancellor at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Massaponax is facing Chancellor at the right time seeing as Chancellor is stuck on  a  12-game losing streak.
