The Lewis Cass Kings will take on the Eastbrook Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Lewis Cass nor Southwood made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Kings came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-1. The match marked the Kings' most dominant victory of the season.
Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Hannah Zamora was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Benner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Lewis Cass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastbrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Elwood get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. Eastbrook might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.
Randy Casto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Casto was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Gracie Elliott was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mya Peterson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Lewis Cass' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Eastbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
