Baseball Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss

Freeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gardiner Tigers.

Ben Bolduc made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Cass, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gardiner, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Freeport will square off against rival Morse at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gardiner is set to take on their familiar foe Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
