Baseball Recap: Vacaville Comes Up Short

Vacaville couldn't beat Campolindo on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-5. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.

Vacaville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Yacovetti, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Luke Giaramita, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Vacaville and nudges their season record down to 16-9. As for Campolindo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Coming up, Vacaville will venture away from home to take on Rodriguez at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Campolindo, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Benicia at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.8, the Panthers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
