Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Timber Creek's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Timber Creek was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Trinity on Tuesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 10-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Austin Wylie looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chance Bedford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Jacob Bennet was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Timber Creek has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Trinity, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 12-4-2.

Timber Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
