Basketball Game Preview: Dietrich Blue Devils vs. Richfield Tigers

Dietrich is 9-1 against Richfield since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Dietrich Blue Devils will challenge the Richfield Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Dietrich is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Monday, everything came up roses for Dietrich against Hansen as the team secured a 63-29 victory. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Aleigha Robertson was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paje Van Tassell, who posted ten points along with six boards and six steals.

Dietrich smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive games.

Richfield played against Bliss and won via forfeit.

Dietrich pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Richfield, their record now sits at 7-13.

Dietrich strolled past Richfield in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 37-19. Will Dietrich repeat their success, or does Richfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
