The Westover Patriots just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Godby Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.
Westover is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Monroe just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Golden Tornadoes by a score of 41-39. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Westover got top-tier performance from Greg Williams, who went 8 for 9 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aden Reese, who posted four points.
Meanwhile, Godby was able to grind out a solid win over Crossroad Academy on Thursday, taking the game 68-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.
Godby's win came from a few key players Westover will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Logan Rose, who put up ten points and seven rebounds. Mekhi Butler was another key player, putting up nine points.
Westover's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Godby, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Westover hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.8 points per game. However, it's not like Godby struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Westover came out on top in a nail-biter against Godby in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, sneaking past 56-54. Will Westover repeat their success, or does Godby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
