Basketball Recap: Grace Academy Knights vs. New Life Christian
The Grace Academy Knights pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-58 to New Life Christian. It was the first time this season that Grace Academy let down their fans at home.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peter Ciardiello, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 44.8% of Grace Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Carson Feeser was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Grace Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for New Life Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for New Life Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
