Basketball Recap: Pomona Comes Up Short

Pomona extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Thornton Trojans, falling 65-39. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Thornton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 81-55).

Among those leading the charge was Jakiha Carter, who posted 20 points. Gulioni Maldonado was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pomona has already played their next game, a 74-22 defeat against Centaurus on the 10th. As for Thornton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-32 loss against Eagle Ridge Academy on the 9th.
